2025 Deadline

The deadline to file your federal tax return and pay any federal income taxes you owe is Wednesday, April 15, 2026.

If you are unable to file before that date, you still have options. You can file for an extension. Filing an extension gives you an additional six months to October 15, 2026, to submit a complete return. Due to state holidays residents of Maine and Massachusetts have until Friday, April 17, 2025.

Business Taxes

The IRS encourages businesses to begin planning now to take advantage of tax benefits available to them when they file their 2025 federal income tax return.
